Cape Cod Motels: As Popular as Ever
Virtually every town on Cape Cod has lodging to suit every taste and budget. The good-old-fashioned motel is as popular on Cape Cod as it has ever been. Many of the motels on Cape Cod have been around for decades.
As a visitor to the Cape, your motel options are endless as there are hundreds located thoughout the Cape and the Islands. Motels are most popular for those visiting for long weekends and they continue to be a favorite for families visiting for a week or more. Motels are usually one or two stories high with connecting rooms whose doors face the parking lot. They will often have a small registration area, an outdoor common area, laundry facilities, and unlike the many individual cottages and private homes on the Cape, a swimming pool.
The peak season on the Cape is July and August. During these months you will find many ”no vacancy” signs in front of the motels. It is recommended that you book your room many months in advance.
